Let me know when the massive snowmaking expansion starts

laugh

Great pictures, given the promise of using the funds from real estate sales recently lets hope to see a bloody great big trencher tearing up standard in prep for laying in the much needed and long awaited snowmaking on this very import missing link of reliable terrain

Thanks for the pics!

It always makes me s4d watching it slowly melt away. Had a ripper season even allowing for the slow start.

so as i could not make it to BC SIC i decided to head up to buller for the day as I had not been there this season and one more day of lazy lifted skiing couldnt hurt.

positives:
- no one there
- cold morning with some firm packed snow good for carving
- good to be back at buller
- catching up with skixracer

negatives/rant
- mt buller. if you are going to charge $37 for gate entry and $76 for wombat/emirates/holden then please run the free shuttle buses later than midday. what a joke. luckily i had the hookups and skixracer gave me a lift back to my car...and a free lunch!

however all in all had a great day up there even tho the conditions after lunch were like soup. maybe its just me but buller definetly feels unique when its cold, it seems to get alot more snow on the trees than the northern resorts. here are some photos to help our SDS until next year

top of powder keg is good to go

top of shakeys was good. bottom was glue.

Little Buller / Wombat

i was hoping summit would have been open...fair bit of rain damage

epic cliffs

alot of birdlife

6/10/12 - 6:48pm
at least 10cms has fallen today, saturday and still snowing
6/10/12 - 12:54pm
Report from my mother: Summit is closed, little buller/ wombat still offer decent skiing. There seems to only be 3-4 people skiing above Bourke street. It's raining, but not extremely wet.

Being higher up Kofflers is the last ski_in eatery left so you can rely on it being open anytime the resort is for skiing.
29/9/12 - 1:36pm
thinking about coming up for the day tomorrow - what will be open for lunch tomorrow ?

koflers still going ?
29/9/12 - 12:28pm
Looks like a nice top up.
about 5 to 6cm on APIRA roof
29/9/12 - 12:25pm
Good
I looked at Hothams page and it said 4 days to go which would be Sunday and got the Email about Mad Monday at Buller so assumed it was shutting then.

Not sure if it's this weekend or the next... I don't think the snow will last all of next week though if lifts do stay open.

Had a look at Buller's website but can't find any info about end of season. Anyone know when the lifts shut down for the season?

Second day at Buller and most lifts on wind hold... Only had Shakey Knees and Skyline to go on with. Yesterday was an amazing day though, plenty of fun to be had on LBS and Summit. Conditions were much better than the warm temps this month would suggest. Will be here until tomorrow, but concerned that the weather will prevent most of what is left from opening.

No just that at this stage of winding down I doubt many will be taking pics and reporting which tends to revolve around new snow falls.
But .. may be something to report by the weekend and depending on weather I guess.
