"We are very excited to be hosting the Victorian Interschool's championships run by the Schools Snowsports Development Foundation (SSDF). It's a major event that attracts a large number of people to the area" says Michael Callahan GM Falls Creek Ski Lifts "This will bring an enormous boost to the regional economy with thousands of children and families expected to participate in the event".
The event will be held 18 - 25 August 2013 and will include all snowsport disciplines including Ski and Snowboard GS, Skier Cross, Moguls, Boarder Cross and Cross Country Classic & Relay.
The SSDF promotes snowsports to all school age children and is open to all levels of skiers. It encourages school children to participate in the sport, growing the market and providing children the opportunity to experience an alpine snowsports environment. Falls Creek supports the work of the SSDF and has been an active participant hosting the National Interschools Titles for many years.
"Falls Creek works in conjunction with the SSDF to provide grass roots opportunities for school children to participate in snowsports" says Callahan "The SSDF plays a key role in ensuring the sport is open to school children in both primary and secondary age groups and Falls Creek works collaboratively with the SSDF to ensure those opportunities are realised".
Falls Creek is very proud to be able to showcase the resort to the Victorian Interschool's participants, many of whom have not visited the region before.

The region experiences the highest snowfalls in Victoria and with Falls Creek's family focus, is well suited to host the Victorian Interschool's Championships.

Falls Creek will again host the Australian Interschools in 2013.
