Fresh snow at Mt Buller

buller: After a cold -5 degree night and more fresh snowfall Mt Buller is getting into a mid-winter groove with hopes high for more terrain opening up this weekend thanks to the cold and snowy weather pattern.

Southside lift turned this morning giving advanced skiers and boarders access to the southern slopes and the chance to venture into more challenging terrain in the hunt for freshies.

Mt Buller had 2cms of fresh snow caught in the gauges overnight and it is snowing still today, with a larger fall anticipated later this week.

15 lifts are in operation including Southside which opened up today to the delight of Monday morning skiers.

"If the snowfall arrives as expected on Thursday there is a strong chance we'll be opening up more runs on the Southern slopes this weekend. We are right on the brink of having the cover to open up additional terrain," explained Buller Ski Lifts General Manager Laurie Blampied.
