Snowbird is one of the friendliest, best-located lodges in the Australian ski fields. Situated at Charlotte Pass, a small village accessible by oversnow transport from Perisher Valley, Snowbird offers great food, comfortable accommodation (all rooms with en-suite facilities) and a unique "Club" atmosphere which will have you feeling right at home from the moment you arrive.
The tariffs are moderate, and include a hearty hot breakfast, healthy buffet lunch and three-course table dhote dinner each day. But the best thing about Snowbird is its superb location - just near the base of the Charlotte Pass lifts. In a normal season you can literally ski out the front door, and ski home through the trees.
We are particularly proud of the quality of meals at Snowbird Lodge. Breakfast is a hearty business in the English style. Luncheon includes hot snacks, cold meats and a generous salad bar, while Dinner is a varied three-course table dhote affair served in a candle-lit atmosphere. Snowbirds dining room is licensed and provides a selection of good Australian wines and beers.
The spacious top-floor Common Room enjoys views over most of the valley. This superb high-ceilinged room provides a quite haven during the day, and a great party atmosphere at night - in fact the social life of the lodge revolves around the Common Rooms cheery fire place.
Snowbird has a limited liquor licence. The shop sells a variety of Australian wines and beers, but no spirits. It also stocks soft drinks sweets and nibblies and some fun Snowbird souvenirs. A wider range of general merchandise is available from the shop in the Chalet.
One of the special joys of a ski holiday at Snowbird is the happy atmosphere created by the Snowbird staff. For many years they have managed to make every week in the season seem "special". Our staff are welcoming, unobtrusive and very, very capable - so whatever the snow quality, whatever the weather, you will always be guaranteed a great time when you stay at Snowbird.
