About Charlotte Pass

Charlotte Pass is Australia's highest village with an elevation of 1760m and is completely snow bound during the winter months. This beautiful Alpine valley is situated on the edge of the main range and is only 8kms from Australia's highest peak, Mount Kosciuszko at 2229m. On a clear day, the view from the top of the Kangaroo Ridge Chairlift over the main range is simply breath taking.

Welcome To Knockshannoch Ski Club

We welcome guests and members to stay at Knockshannoch, the smallest and (we think) friendliest ski lodge in the village. With a maximum of twenty guests, we're small enough to get to know you, but big enough for you to relax in comfort.

We have full time Managers to look after you, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere with great food and comfortable accommodation.

Your weekly tariff includes seven nights accommodation and three meals daily: hearty hot breakfasts, hot lunches and delicious three course dinners every day (except Saturday lunch).

You can ski to and from the front door of the Lodge, so it's easy to pop in and out during the day. Stop in for a quick hot chocolate between runs or watch the weather and only ski when you feel you want to. Flexibility is a key part of staying at Knockshannoch.

About Our Lodge

Knockshannoch offers six bedrooms accommodating a mixed number of guests. Each room has its own ensuite and separate temperature controls, along with great views of the village and snow-capped ridges. All linen and towels are provided (hairdryers too). We have a large communal lounge area, complete with tea and coffee facilities including a cappuccino & hot chocolate machine and a guests fridge. The lodge has a convenient boot room, drying room and ski storage room. There are also clothes washing and drying facilities

About Our Village

Charlotte Pass is small and friendly, and absent of the hustle and bustle of the larger resorts. It has a total of five lifts and is open to downhill skiers, snow boarders and cross-country enthusiasts alike. With its high base elevation the quality of the snow is often the best in Australia.

All levels of skier are catered for, but it is especially suitable for families and children, with a great beginner's area and ski school. With only a few day trippers, lift queues are minimal even in peak periods. Ski hire, lift tickets, lessons and discount packages are all available through the Village.

Visitors to our Village are also welcome to use the Kosciusko Chalet Hotel facilities at anytime. These include a general shop, child minding and kids club, bar and night club, and weekly entertainment.

How To Get Here

Charlotte Pass is inaccessible by road during the winter season, which is one of its main charms. Instead make your way to the main terminal at Perisher Valley (the easiest way is by ski tube from Bullocks Flat). Then proceed to the Charlotte Pass Village counter inside the terminal, where you arrange over snow transport directly to the Lodge. It's a unique and fun way to get to your next ski holiday!
